REDEX® Flap

The explosion isolation flap valve for your dust applications.

The REDEX® Flap offers you reliable, passive and at the same time inexpensive protection for your production environment. It is ideal for dust-intensive processes, especially in the explosion isolation of filters in combination with explosion relief.

Certificates

We guarantee safety.

An explosion isolation flap valve protects human life. That is why we work according to strict quality guidelines and have all products certified. The REDEX® Flap is type-tested according to EN 16447 for compliance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and optionally also NFPA 69.

Functional principle

How REDEX® Flap works.

The explosion isolation flap valve REDEX® Flap effectively prevents the propagation of explosions in the opposite direction of flow and explosion and guarantees full safety through reliable mechanical interlocking. The short installation distances of the REDEX® Flap enable a cost-efficient and at the same time flexible design of your systems in combination with explosion relief such as bursting discs.

REDEX® Flap in rest position

In the rest position without air flow, the damper disc is in the closed but not locked position. Compared to competitor products, process air can already flow in the home position. This means that low-loss operation is possible even when the system is started up slowly or with very low volume flows. A switch monitors the operational status of the butterfly valve.

REDEX® Flap in normal operation

In normal operation, the damper disc is in the open position and the medium flows around it. The flow both above and below the damper blade keeps it cleanly in position. Unwanted “flapping” of the damper blade is therefore not possible compared to competitor models.

REDEX® Flap after explosion

In the event of an explosion, the pressure wave pushes the damper disc into the closed and locked state. This prevents the spread of flames and pressure waves. A switch indicates the locked state of the non-return valve.
