The RSV explosion isolation slide valve provides safe explosion protection in the piping system – without any pressure drop. It is available in three versions for dust, gas and demanding CIP applications.

The RSV offers safe explosion isolation in a wide range of applications – completely without pressure drop. It can be used for pressure shock resistant design, explosion pressure relief and explosion suppression. This explosion isolation valve is also approved for organic and metallic dusts, hybrid mixtures and gases.

How the explosion isolation slide valve RSV works.
The RSV is the fastest slide valve on the market, which enables very short installation distances. Furthermore, it can be installed at any angle. Depending on the version, the RSV is suitable for both positive and negative pressure applications. The RSV can be serviced within minutes and is ready for use again after activation. The RSV-G or RSV-P versions with an optional inliner can also be used in combination with toxic or corrosive media – even with the highest hygiene requirements.

In normal operation, the slide valve is open and can be pneumatically actuated for function monitoring.
RSV after explosion
The system to be protected is equipped with pressure and/or flame sensors. These detect an explosion and send a signal to the control system. Depending on the size of the valve, one or more gas generators are activated by the control system, which close the valve in a fraction of a second due to the high pressure generated.
When closed, the spread of flames and pressure waves is thus effectively prevented. Fast closing times also enable the shortest possible installation distances.
